Fossil's Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition smartwatch is an evolution of the Gen 6 Wellness Edition smartwatch, offering many of the key features but with an E-Ink display instead of OLED. Announced at CES 2023, the hybrid smartwatch promises a two week battery life, whilst continuing to provide functions like heart rate and SpO2 tracking, as well as Alexa.

iFlytek Max is a 13.3-Inch eNote

iFlytek has just released their first 13.3-inch digital note taking device called the Max. It comes with a new stylus that the company has just developed and it has a number of software features such as split screen, where you can have one thing open one side and something else on the other. This might be good for someone needing to edit two different PDF documents, or one PDF and taking freehand notes on the other side. The iFlytek Max features a 13.3-inch E INK Carta HD e-paper display with a resolution of 2200×1650 with 207 PPI.

We have e-readers, digital note-taking devices, smartwatches, and a myriad of other DIY stuff using E Ink displays. Now, here comes a headset, or rather a head-mounted display that uses the e-paper panels and is designed to take e-reading to a new level altogether. Developed by the start-up Sol Reader, the upcoming E Ink headset by the same name is still a work-in-progress thing though the company did have a prototype to show off at the CES event.

Vertu Vbook William Shakespeare Edition is a 10.1-Inch eNote

Vertu is a luxury brand out of Hong Kong and sold in English. They are well known for selling diamond encrusted phones or phones with an alligator skin or calfskin built right into it for 30k. Their phone cases are also designed well and normally retail for $700. The company has just launched their first digital note taking device and it is called the Vertu Vbook, William Shakespeare edition. You can order it today from the Good e-Reader Store for $1399.99, it is after all, a luxury product. The Vertu E-Note features a 10.1 inch E INK Carta HD display with a resolution of 1200×1600 with a proclaimed 360 PPI.

Amazon attended CES for the first time since the pandemic started. The company floated under the radar from all of the cool E INK products that were announced and all of wacky stuff that got most of the press. Amazon announced a number of new prototypes and products that will be available soon. This includes Ring Car Cam and Astro.

 

Bigme Galy Color E Ink Tablet Now Available on Indiegogo

Bigme announced the Galy color e-note device is now available on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. Prior to this, it was available via Kickstarter though that has come to an end. The company also revealed a total of 696 members have pledged more than 3.28 million Hong Kong Dollars or 3,288,056 HKD, to be specific on Kickstarter and is hoping for a similar kind of a response on Indiegogo as well, if not better. The Galy color E Ink digital note-taking device also makes a compelling choice for itself and that has a lot to do with the excellent 8-inch Gallery 3 display it comes with.

Schools Sue Social Networks, Claim They “Exploit Neurophysiology” of Kids’ Brains

A lawsuit filed by Seattle Public Schools alleges that social media is one of the main causes of "a youth mental health crisis" and blames social media companies for "exploit[ing] the neurophysiology" of kids' brains. Arguing that social media companies are violating the state public nuisance law, the lawsuit seeks financial damages and other remedies from the owners of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube.
