E-paper Industry Alliance Founded, a Milestone in ePaper Industry



 

Over 150 representatives from 60 companies in the ePaper industry value chain gathered in Baoshan, Shanghai on April 28, 2021, witnessing the founding of Shanghai ePaper Technology Promotion Center of Yangtze River Delta, the entity of the E-paper Industry Alliance. This is the first global organization focused on e-Paper technology, marking a milestone in the ePaper industry.

 

Chen Hongkai, leader of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality; Chen Xiaojie, Deputy Director of Baoshan District Government; Zhang Zhi, Deputy Director of the Baoshan Bureau of Education; Gao Hongjun, Party Secretary of Gaojing Town; Wang Yuming, Director of Gaojing Town, as well as other representatives from the technological, educational, and governmental entities of Baoshan, participated in the event.

 

The frontrunners of the ePaper industry value chain including E Ink, BOE, Holitech, Lenovo, Hisense, iFLYTEK, iReader, M&G Stationery, TÜV Rheinland, Qingyue Optoelectronics, YES Optoelectronics, MICROVIEW Electronics, Water World, Moaan, Mirai Create, showed their presence in the event. Other ePaper educational companies such as Unote, ZUOYEJIA, Psylife, and WeTao, also sent their respective delegates.

 

Following the founding ceremony of the Shanghai ePaper Technology Promotion Center , an education forum on Intelligent Study Terminals in the Educational Information 2.0 Era was hosted.

 

Informative and constructional discussions took place among approximately 20 education experts, industry leaders, school headmasters, and other representatives of the ePaper value chain partners. They covered the roles of ePaper in educational informationization,  improvement of teaching quality, reduction of the workload of teachers, particularly in the widely concerned preservation of student's eyesight.

 

It is learned that the experiment of ePaper screen based study terminals in schools involving over 20,000 Chinese students, positive feedback and relevant data had been collected. Education experts expressed 2021 would become an important year for ePaper development in education.
