The German Luxary brand Montblanc has just released a digital paper e-notebook with E INK.

Montblanc is a Luxury brand out of Germany that is best known for its fountain pens, which are considered to be the best in the world. They also sell bags, luggage, wallets, belts, and other stuff; it is all very expensive. The company has just announced its entry into the e-notebook space with the advent of the Montblanc Digital Paper, which will retail for over $900.00.
The screen of the Montblanc Digital Paper is made of E INK and is protected by a layer of glass. While it is designed for an optimal writing and reading experience, it remains delicate and should be treated with care. Proper maintenance and mindful use will help preserve its longevity and performance.
The Digital Paper by Montblanc is mostly made of aluminum, and the front ledger and back plate are made of leather. This device is not part of a partnership but an entirely new device that was built and developed from the ground up. There are three different colors on the front and back plate: Cool Grey, Mystery Black, and Exlixir Gold. The company is also making folio cases made of leather for $200 each, available in a myriad of colors.
Inspired by the Montblanc icon, the Digital Pen reflects over a century of writing excellence – reimagined for the connected age. Its sleek silhouette and perfectly weighted body offer lasting comfort for extended writing. Easily accessible buttons allow intuitive control of features, enhancing your flow without distraction. The pen hs 4000 degrees of pressure sensitivity. When purchasing the device, the pen comes with it, along with a series of replacement nibs.
Montblanc told me in a statement, ” Our design approach extended beyond the physical object to consider the entire experience. The pen and paper combination is supported by smart software features that allow users to search handwritten notes, annotate documents, and structure thoughts using digital templates for planning, journaling, and more. Files can be shared or received instantly via email, USB-C, or Montblanc’s companion cloud apps, ensuring that inspiration moves fluidly between analog and digital worlds.
Full tech specs are not available yet. However, it does have a 3740 mAh battery, 64GB of storage, WIFI, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C. There is also no idea about what screen size they are using, but it looks to be 10.3 or 13.3. Since the product was just announced today, more details should come out in the next few weeks. However, the writing experience looks unparalleled, super responsive, and the software is running Android, but you can’t install apps, nor does it have Google Play.
