SOLUM (CEO Sung-Ho Jeon) announced on the 17th that it unveiled the next-generation E-signage featuring E Ink's latest full-color display technology, 'E Ink Spectra 6,' at NRF2025.
SOLUM began its collaboration with E Ink in 2011 by introducing ePaper into electronic shelf labels (ESL) for the first time. This time, the partnership has expanded beyond the ESL sector to the eco-friendly display market, marking a new leap forward.
The newly introduced E-signage incorporates E Ink's latest full-color display technology, 'E Ink Spectra 6,' offering an enhanced color spectrum and advanced color imaging algorithms for superior visual effects. Notably, it supports up to 200 pixels per inch (PPI) in high resolution and partial image blinking effects, enabling effective delivery of advertising messages. In addition to 7.3” and 8.14”, SOLUM will be offering larger sizes of E Ink Spectra 6 for retailers to incorporate promotional messages and advertising at end-caps and in aisle.
SOLUM's E-signage offers distinctive advantages over conventional LCD or LED-based displays. It operates with ultra-low power, can run on batteries without constant power supply, and is easy to install. Additionally, a dedicated mobile app allows for simple content creation and updates, while providing a variety of templates optimized for the display. Multiple displays can also be monitored in real time and managed remotely, maximizing operational efficiency.
The energy-saving features, such as automatic wake-up and sleep time settings, are also noteworthy. These features are expected to contribute to enhancing companies' ESG values. In particular, the significantly reduced power consumption during image updates further enhances its value as a sustainable display solution.
"Based on our long-standing collaboration with E Ink, we have presented new possibilities in the eco-friendly display market," said Seong-ho Jeon, CEO of SOLUM. "In particular, the market for eco-friendly digital signage applying E-paper will expand further, establishing this technology as a sustainable solution across various industries. Furthermore, SOLUM and E Ink will strengthen their strategic partnership in the electronic shelf label market to jointly expand the market together."
