E Ink and Cream Guitars Dream Up the Voltage DaVinci

E Ink works in collaboration with guitar manufacturer Cream Guitars to create the new Voltage DaVinci. This is the first-ever color-changing electric guitar in the world. The two merge elements of digital technology with fine craftsmanship to form the progressive instrument. It allows musicians to transform their instruments in real-time. At the root of the Voltage DaVinci is the E Ink Prism 3 ePaper technology.

This is a low-power and durable display system that can showcase up to seven different colors and patterns. Musicians can shift the look to match their set, mood, and other aesthetics that play a role in the show. This does not need any paint whatsoever. The CEO of Cream Guitars, Luiz Ortiz noted, "We wanted to break every rule. We've reimagined every part of an electric guitar to enhance the playing experience. By collaborating with E Ink, we’re giving artists a new level of creativity beyond anything currently on the market."
