June 1 — Amid the global push toward energy transition and net-zero carbon goals, a 75-inch color ePaper signage display has been installed in the baggage claim area of Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2, becoming the world's first color ePaper advertising billboard deployed in an international airport. E Ink stated that the next-generation 75-inch E Ink Kaleido™ color ePaper display technology not only delivers a paper-like reading experience with excellent ambient-light visibility, but also supports animation and video playback — balancing eye-catching advertising with energy-saving needs.
The 75-inch color ePaper signage is located in the baggage claim carousel area of Terminal 2 — one of the highest-dwell-time and highest-exposure zones for international travelers. The color ePaper advertising media not only effectively communicates brand messaging, but also demonstrates Taoyuan Airport's concrete progress in advancing low-carbon smart infrastructure, allowing travelers from around the world to experience Taiwan's leadership in sustainable technology innovation.

As global energy demand continues to rise and the AI era drives massive power consumption, governments and enterprises are actively seeking more energy-efficient infrastructure solutions. The standout feature of ePaper display technology is that it consumes virtually no power when the image is static — drawing only a minimal amount of electricity during content updates. The 75-inch E Ink Kaleido™ color ePaper signage can operate on battery power for extended periods without requiring continuous grid connection, significantly reducing infrastructure requirements and long-term operating costs.
Since ePaper signage can maintain display without continuous power, it significantly reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions. With no need for power cabling, installation is faster, more flexible, and less disruptive to airport operations — offering large transportation hubs a more sustainability-aligned digital media solution. Moreover, the next-gen 75-inch E Ink Kaleido color ePaper supports animation and video playback, balancing advertising impact with energy efficiency and opening new directions for digital out-of-home (DOOH) media.
E Ink President Hong Jimao: "As the world faces energy transition and AI-driven surges in power demand, the importance of ultra-low-power display technology will only grow. With its near-zero-power static display capability, ePaper helps enterprises and public spaces effectively reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. We will continue working with global partners to advance smart transportation, smart cities, and sustainable media applications."
OMNI Media Chairman Chen Hongbin: "Digital out-of-home media is moving toward greener, more sustainable marketing. OMNI Media will leverage a 'dynamic visual + long-duration low-carbon' smart placement strategy, using ePaper technology in complement with other display technologies to optimize overall energy consumption in public spaces and provide brands with a new digital communication platform that balances commercial value with environmental responsibility."
The project uses E Ink's 75-inch E Ink Kaleido color ePaper display technology, with DynaScan providing hardware system integration and OMNI Media responsible for advertising media operations — jointly creating a next-generation airport media platform that combines sustainability, digital innovation, and advertising value.
