Zhipu AI learning devices

In early June, Zhipu (02513.HK), a leading AI large model company listed in China, quietly launched two educational hardware products — the Zhipu Lingji AI Learning Camera and the Zhipu Lingji AI Knowledge Card — targeting the vast education market.

Zhipu is pursuing a "high-low pairing, all-age coverage" product strategy.

The Zhipu Lingji AI Learning Camera is aimed at the early education market for children aged three and above, positioned as a lightweight learning device that enables "snap to learn, fun enlightenment."

Leveraging the multimodal capabilities of the GLM large model, the AI Learning Camera runs a child-friendly lightweight operating system for faster startup and smoother operation. The device integrates eight core AI enlightenment functions, including object recognition, AI storytelling, creative filters, doodle-to-image generation, magic transformation, Chinese-English learning, multi-character companionship, and challenge rewards — covering a broad range of early learning scenarios.

The second product, the Zhipu Lingji AI Knowledge Card, targets primary and secondary school students. Co-developed with moben, it features a palm-sized portable ePaper design centered on two key selling points: "distraction-free learning" and "guided Q&A."

Unlike conventional learning devices that simply "give the answer," the AI Knowledge Card relies on the GLM model's logical reasoning capabilities and adheres to an interaction logic of "guiding thinking rather than copying answers," fostering children's ability to ask questions and think logically. When students pose a question, the device breaks down problem-solving steps, organizes knowledge logic, explains core concepts, and guides students toward independent thinking — truly enabling them to "understand not just what, but why."

On the hardware side, the ePaper display offers eye protection with no games, no videos, and no push notifications, making it suitable for extended study sessions. With 4G + Wi-Fi dual connectivity, students can ask questions anytime without relying on a smartphone. It is compact enough for a school bag or on-the-go use. A companion mini-program supports study task planning and knowledge memory management, while parents can monitor their child's learning trajectory, interest profile, and daily study reports in real time — achieving a balance between independent learning and parental oversight. The product has already entered the school pilot phase and received preliminary recognition in campus settings.
