SwitchBot has recently unveiled a new smart home device: a 7.5-inch E Ink smart weather display that delivers up to a full year of battery life on a single charge and can comprehensively present all types of weather data. The smart display also features AI-powered smart recommendations, capable of providing outfit suggestions, travel tips, and motivational quotes tailored to the day’s weather forecast.
Already available for purchase at $110, the SwitchBot weather station offers a full suite of features: it displays indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, air quality, a 7-day weather forecast, wind speed and direction, sunset time, real-time UV index, and many other data points, with the device automatically refreshing every three hours.
The product was designed from the ground up to replace weather apps on smartphones and computers, eliminating the need to frequently open electronic devices to check meteorological data. The system includes six built-in display themes, and users can freely customize the content shown on screen. Paired with the brand’s proprietary OpenClaw AI, users can also create custom data dashboard layouts.
Through the companion app, the device can push automatic alerts for abnormal temperature or humidity levels, and users can remotely adjust climate control devices and execute a wide range of smart home linkage actions. The unit features a built-in customizable physical button that, once paired with smart home devices, enables one-touch activation of smart curtains, lighting, and more. It can also link with other SwitchBot sensors such as the Meter Pro for more precise environmental monitoring data.
The E Ink screen supports calendar synchronization, connection to external sensors, and whole-home smart home integration, making it a versatile all-in-one information terminal.
Compared to traditional full-color LED smart displays, the E Ink screen consumes significantly less power while dramatically reducing glare, solving the key pain point of conventional smart screens being unreadable in direct sunlight. The front of the screen is equipped with a fill light for clear viewing in low-light environments, and the device supports both desktop placement and wall-mounted installation.
Users can synchronize the weather station with Google Calendar, Apple iCloud, and Microsoft Outlook, binding up to five different accounts so that family members can view their respective schedules, to-do reminders, and even set alarms individually.
