On October 19, iReader officially launched the iReader Ocean 6 Pro E Ink e-reader, positioned as a 7-inch portable reading flagship. The new product is offered in two colorways, Gushan (black) and Qiancao (green), at an official price of RMB 1,799, and reservations are now open.

For the display, the Ocean 6 Pro carries a 7-inch Carta 1300 soft-light screen with 300 PPI resolution, a recessed screen design, nano-etched tempered glass and micron-level lamination. The front light supports fine two-way adjustment across 30 brightness levels and 30 color temperature levels, with newly customized soft-light LED beads that balance eye comfort with outdoor visibility.

The body weighs only 196g and is about 7mm thick, with rounded, chamfered corners and physical page-turn buttons on the right side, making one-handed operation easy and reducing strain during long reading sessions.

Performance is a key upgrade this time. The device runs a 6nm octa-core CPU with 4GB of LPDDR memory and 64GB of storage, delivering a 300% overall performance improvement over the previous generation. It supports up to 50 fps super refresh technology, greatly reducing page-turn lag on E Ink screens, and offers two page-turn animations, water ripple and waterfall, compatible with third-party applications such as WeChat Reading, Fanqie Novel and manga apps.

For battery life, a 3,000mAh battery supports up to 91 hours of continuous reading and up to 23 days of standby on official figures. A built-in speaker and microphone enable audiobook playback, and connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band WiFi and a Type-C port with OTG support for external devices.

On the software side, the device runs iReader SmartOS with iClean instant-clear technology, which effectively reduces page-turn ghosting. The open system allows users to install reading apps freely and supports novels, manga and PDF documents, serving general readers, manga fans and students alike.
