01 Infinix Launches E-Color Shift Technology at CES 2024

Infinix showcased its new E-Color Shift technology at CES 2024, which can change the color of the phone's back panel. Once completing the color and pattern switch, it does not consume any power while maintaining vibrant colors. Infinix stated that this technology utilizes the E Ink Prism3 color ePaper technology, creating up to 60 customizable micro-units on the back of the phone, allowing for color and pattern changes according to time and user mood.

The E Ink Prism3 ePaper technology launched in 2023 has features such as ultra-low power consumption, personalized design, slimness, and durability. It uses durable materials to create a thin and dynamic display solution. Infinix claims that when using the E-Color Shift technology, users do not need to worry about battery consumption and can freely customize the back panel for their smartphones.

02  Sharp Showcased A2-sized Color ePaper Poster Using IGZO Technology at CES 2024

Sharp showcased an A2-sized color ePaper poster using IGZO technology at CES 2024. This product was launched in November 2023 and features E Ink Spectra6 color ePaper technology and Sharp's IGZO backplane technology, providing customers with stunning color effects, sleek design, and zero power consumption in standby mode, making ePaper posters an environmentally friendly and cost-effective display solution.

The resolution of E Ink Spectra 6 color ePaper technology has been optimized to 200 PPI, with a contrast ratio of 30:1. It can operate in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50℃, achieving the same color effects as the most advanced color printers on the market. Additionally, E Ink Spectra6 color ePaper technology supports partial image flickers to highlight advertising messages through dynamic visual effects, helping advertisers achieve eye-catching product promotion.

IGZO is an oxide semiconductor composed of indium (In), gallium (Ga), zinc (Zn), and oxygen (O). It is used as a thin-film transistor (TFT) material to drive displays, allowing for smaller peripheral circuits and narrower borders.

03 Linxura Smart Home Controller with ePaper Display

At CES 2024, Linxura showcased a smart home controller with a disc-shaped design. This product uses a Click Wheel control method similar to the iPod, can connect to 52 smart home devices, and is compatible with various platforms such as Alexa, Sonos, LIFX, and Philips. The device uses an ePaper display instead of an LCD, which provides a battery life of up to 3 months on a single charge.

The ePaper display on the device can simultaneously display four smart home devices. Users can view the relevant pages of each device and adjust the settings of different smart home devices, such as brightness, temperature, and volume, by rotating and clicking the wheel. Currently, this smart home controller is priced at $99.

04  Hyattsville Installes Solar-powered ePaper Message Boards

Hyattsville, located in Maryland, USA, has installed solar-powered ePaper information kiosks in local parks such as Driskell Park, Heurich Park, and Rhode Island Avenue Streetcar Trail. These information kiosks are designed by Soofa, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and use more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient ePaper displays. One side of these kiosks displays information from the city's Facebook page and online calendar, as well as news from other cities. On the other side of the kiosk, there is a map for navigation and links to important city contacts. Prior to this, the Maryland-National Capital Park and M-NCPPC have deployed Soofa-designed solar charging stations at Lake Artemesia.
