Hisense Launches A10 Series E Ink 5G Phone Starting at RMB 2,799

On August 28, Hisense officially launched the A10 series E Ink 5G phone, available in A10 Pro and A10 Ultra versions with a starting price of RMB 2,799 and open for sale simultaneously.

The entire front of the lineup is equipped with a 6.13-inch Carta 1300 E Ink display at a resolution of 1648 × 824 (300 PPI), supporting 256-level grayscale and a 36-level warm/cool dual-tone front light. Relying on ambient reflected light to form images, it is blue-light-free and flicker-free, making it well suited for extended e-book reading, PDF annotation and exam-prep study.

The display is paired with an E Ink T2000 hardware TCON chip that independently manages screen refresh, optimizing ghosting while reducing processor load.

One of the biggest highlights of the new product is the option to attach a magnetically mounted color LCD back screen: a 4.96-inch secondary screen snaps on via a magnetic ring and metal contacts on the back — attaching instantly and detaching with a simple lift.

Once the color screen is attached, users can browse color comics, view charts, play short videos and use social apps — balancing focused reading with multimedia entertainment in a single device. When the color screen isn't needed, it simply detaches, returning the phone to its slim, light E Ink-only form.

The A10 Ultra comes with the magnetic secondary screen as standard, while the A10 Pro retains the magnetic contacts so users can purchase the back-screen accessory separately.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon-class QCM6690 octa-core 4 nm processor with full-band 5G support, the phone is deeply optimized for E Ink scenarios: it automatically lowers frequency and power draw during static reading, while boosting compute responsiveness for multi-document and handwriting-annotation workloads.

It ships with native Android 16, with long-term system updates and security patches, a 48 MP rear main camera, and a full set of features including NFC, IR remote control, magnetic wireless charging and Wi-Fi 6.

The device weighs 190 g and is offered in two colors: Moonlit White and Ink-Bamboo Green. Pricing is as follows:
